Join us as staff genealogists from the National Society Daughters of the Amerian Revolution (DAR) and the National Society Sons of the American Revolutions (SAR) explore how to go about researching your Revolutionary War ancestor. Learn about what qualifies as service (spoiler: it's not just military service), how to go about finding these records, and what genealogical standards are expected when applying to these lineage societies.

Finding Those Treasured Family Photos – Outside of Your Family  (Webinars)
2:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Hybrid
Join the Old Buncombe County Genealogical Society March meeting either in person or on Zoom.
Think there are no photos of your ancestors? Think again! Maybe a fire or flood destroyed your family’s photo collection—or perhaps those precious images are sitting in someone else’s attic, guarded by a less-than-cooperative relative. Don’t give up hope. Some of the best photo finds come from outside your known family network. Learn where to look, what to look for, and how to uncover unexpected treasures that bring your ancestors to life.

Rhonda Roederer, a Louisiana native, now lives in North Carolina and is a full-time professional genealogist and educator. She is the Founder of Heritage With Heart.  Her experiences are diverse: uncovering family mysteries, writing heritage cookbooks, organizing large family events, and reuniting adoptees with their birth families.  In seminars and workshops for historical societies, libraries and conferences, including RootsTech, she shares her own case studies.  Rhonda’s mission is to help bring families together, both physically and emotionally… one generation at a time.
Registration is required. There is no charge to attend.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information to join the webinar.
