Why Olde Meck?
Our logo, redesigned in 2016, emphasizes our connection with the past as well as our current mission.
The same principle applies to our familiar name, "Olde Meck."
The society wishes to celebrate our complete history, which originally included parts of about 15 other counties in North and South Carolina. Many records from these "olde" locations still exist in area repositories. At the same time that Olde Meck connects to our rich heritage, we also welcome and embrace the varied backgrounds of all our members and guests, and strive to meet their genealogical needs regardless of origin.
